Are you a goth?
No. I'm not gloomy enough to be a goth.
Are you a rivethead?
No. I'm not angry enough to be a rivethead.
Are you a punk? Or a metalhead?
No. See the rivethead answer, above.
Are you a neo-Nazi?
No. I'm not angry or stupid enough to be a neo-Nazi. Also, even if I were both angry and stupid enough, my aunt's branch of the family and some good friends of mine are Jewish, so it probably wouldn't work out too well.

Are you a professional photographer?
No. I'm just an enthusiastic hobbyist, but I get asked this all the time because of my equipment case. Professionals would probably have a lot less to carry around because each item (especially lenses) would do more. Most of my equipment is between two and four decades old, and cost less than professionals would spend on a bag to carry their equipment in.

Are you a scientist?
No, but I do have an interest in various branches of science.
OK. Are you on any "social network"?
No. I used to joke about "antisocial-networking sites", but then someone went and made one. I'm not on that either.
Do you use Instant Messaging?
Only at work, and that's a closed system. I have old accounts on a few public IM systems, but I haven't used them in years.
Why not?
When I'm using a computer, it's generally because I'm working on something. IM and social networks are a distraction that makes it harder to focus on that work. I like email because it doesn't have the expectation of an instant reply. If I'm not in the middle of something, I can reply right away. If I am, I can reply later.
